Environmental Health provides consultation and expertise to the citizens reporting animal bites in Jackson County and Jackson County citizens exposed outside Jackson County. To report an animal bite, please call 850-482-9227 during working hours and 850-526-2412 after hours and on holidays. The Florida Department of Health in Jackson County's answering service will locate an Environmental Health employee to respond to your call. Please continue to call until someone from Environmental Health contacts you.  

Contact Jackson County Animal Control at 850-718-0021 to assist in capturing a biting animal. Never shoot a biting animal in the head. The animal head must be in good condition in order to determine if the animal is rabid.
