(AIDS Drug Assistance Program)

Anti-retroviral Therapy in Adults
The Jackson County Health Department clinic will respond to your medication needs through different funding sources. Patients who are not eligible for Medicaid and do not have private insurance can enroll in the State of Florida AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). Medications can be ordered monthly and can be picked up regularly at the clinic you normally attend.

Taking medications as prescribed each and every day without missing any doses is very, very important. Missing one or two doses a week can cause the virus to become resistant to the medicines that fight HIV infection. Special packaging for daily dosages, pill boxes and individualized medication lists are available to you.

Adherence to antiviral therapy – taking your medication as prescribed – must be a priority for all of us.

The clinic staff will work closely with you to develop a plan tailored to your specific needs. Each time you visit the clinic you will be asked to bring in all of your medications, and to help us assess your adherence and discuss ways to help you remember each dose.
